The Spring and Fall seasons for all divisions except Tee Ball typically consists of 16 games - one weeknight game and one Saturday game. Tee ball is usually 10 games with all of them played on Saturdays. Each team will so have one scheduled weeknight practice.

Once games start the Saturday practices will stop. Some coaches may elect to hold additional practices during the week if there is interest.
Yes, we will have an orientation and Coach/Player meet and greet night prior to each season. This is a great opportunity to meet your coach and CHB Board members, get all the information on the upcoming season, and ask any questions you may have. Information will be sent out on the time and location at least a week prior to the meeting.
Evaluations
It depends. CHB does not typically hold evaluations but does reserve the right to require them prior to team assignment. Situations where an evaluation may be required can include, but are not limited to:
- Your child would like to play in a division above his/her age level
- CHB is fielding a travel team and your child would like to participate
- Registration numbers require multiple teams in a division and coaches would like to hold an evaluation before splitting players between the teams.
- Coaches are fielding a tournament team for tournaments outside of the normal league schedule
Playing Time
Yes, CHB wants your child to have a positive experience playing baseball. CHB follows Cal Ripken playing time rules. This includes a running batting order, which means every player bats, and a rule that no player may sit on the bench for more than one consecutive inning. Outside of these rules, playing time and player positions are left to the discretion of the coach. A coach may elect to sit a player an entire game (must exclude that player from the game day roster) for discipline reasons if necessary.
If you are concerned about playing time, please speak with your head coach or contact CHB at frederickbaseball.cloverhill@gmail.com.
Pictures
Yes, CHB offers pictures during both the Spring and Fall seasons.
We try to schedule pictures towards the end of the Spring season and towards the beginning of the Fall season. Pictures are usually spread out over multiple nights to accommodate team schedules.
Yes, you should receive your pictures before the season is over. We try to schedule them early to ensure this. Pictures will be distributed by your coach or team mom/dad. If they do not arrive by the end of the season, CHB will hold a picture pick-up night at the park.
Yes, please bring your child to the picture session so they can be a part of the team picture. Many players purchase team pictures along with individual pictures. Team photos are also provided to coaches and team sponsors. You are not obligated to purchase any photos.
Uniforms
Yes, uniforms are required to play in games. A uniform consists of a jersey, baseball pants, and a hat. Baseball socks, a belt, and cleats are encouraged.
Jerseys and hats are provided by the league as a part of the registration fee. Parents are responsible for baseball pants, belt, socks, and cleats. Colors for belts and socks will be communicated to parents before the season begins. Currently all teams wear white pants. There are no required colors for cleats.
Uniform orders are typically placed one month prior to the start of the season. You will be asked to provide your child’s jersey and hat size during the registration process to help facilitate the process. Please feel free to email CHB at frederickbaseball.cloverhill@gmail.com if you have questions about sizing.
Uniforms are typically delivered the week before the first game.
Concessions
Yes, CHB asks that each family volunteer for at least one spot per family to work the concession stand. Concession stand spots typically are for 2 hours.
No, you can volunteer to work a time slot during any Saturday home game of the season. CHB uses SignUpGenius.com to manage concession stand time slots. At the beginning of the season time slots are created for all divisions (Majors, Minors, Rookies, and Tee Ball) Saturday home games. You may choose a time slot during any home game that is open.
The CHB Concession Stand is easy to work but we understand it may seem overwhelming to those who have not done it before. Instructions are located in the concession stand as well and are also emailed to volunteers the day before the shift. CHB Concession Coordinators are also available to help with any questions.

Many of our Board members started with no experience helping run a baseball league. All that is required is the desire to be a part of a league that provides our children an opportunity to develop, play competitive baseball, create friendships, and most importantly have fun in a safe environment. If you want to be a part of CHB but are unsure how you can help please contact us and we will help you figure out where your talents can be used.

We have never had a coach who has refused parent help during practices! Players always outnumber coaches so parent help is always welcome during practice. If you would like to help out, please talk to your head coach.
Yes! Team Mom/Dads help the coach with team communications, planning team activities, etc. During the registration process, you can indicate if you are interested in helping as a Team Mom/Dad or you can reach out to your head coach.
